Jarrod S. Crockett, ESQ.

Jarrod’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, business representation, including entity formations, corporations, LLCs, the purchase and sale of businesses, estate planning, probate practice, and general litigation.

Jarrod was born and raised in a logging family in the mountains of western Maine where he attended local schools. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserves at 17 and was soon awarded an ROTC Scholarship to attend college. He earned the honor of being a Distinguished Military Graduate upon his graduation from Radford University three years later. While in college, he interned for United States Senator Olympia J. Snowe. He served as a commissioned officer in the US Army from 1999 until 2003 when he left as Captain to attend the Appalachian School of Law. During this time, he externed for Justice Thomas Delahanty II of the Maine Superior Court. Jarrod left law school at the end of the fall semester 2005 to accept the command of a National Guard company deploying to Afghanistan. Having accumulated enough credits for graduation prior to deployment, Jarrod’s father accepted his diploma for him in 2006 while Jarrod listened into the ceremony from a base in Afghanistan via phone.

Jarrod spent a year as a company commander; and, when his unit redeployed in early 2007, he stayed for an additional six months as a Combat Advisor to an Afghan National Army unit operating in a remote area on the Afghan/ Pakistan border. During his 18-month tour of duty, Jarrod was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and a Bronze Star Medal among other awards and decorations.

 

Upon Jarrod’s return home, he sat for the bar exam and was admitted to the Maine Bar in 2008. He was also elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2008 where he served for six years. In the legislature he championed government ethics reform, individual liberties and property rights bills.  Jarrod currently serves as the Judge of Probate for Oxford County.

Jarrod also continued his military service in the U.S. Army Reserves where he served as a Battalion Executive Officer and Battalion Commander.

Still active in community affairs, Jarrod has served on the Bethel Conservation Commission and Bingham Forest Authority. He is a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Bethel Historical Society and Alder River Grange.

Jarrod and his wife, Paige, and their three children, Teddy, Jocelyn, and Foster live in East Bethel.
